Invoice2go is the Australian mobile invoicing app for contactless payments. It has launched a tap-and-go payment feature, supported by PayPal Here. The new product comes as ­Invoice2go announced its customers were now sending $2 billion worth of invoices through the app, $400 million worth sent in Australia. This figure has doubled in just two years since the company announced it had reached $1bn in invoices sent in 2015. It’s a significant milestone for a company that started life 15 years ago and has since become a leader in the Australian start-up scene.

With PayPal, the most trusted brand in consumer payments, it will help you get paid on the spot as said above, whether you’re at a job site, store, or your home office. With PayPal Here mobile point of sale (mPOS) system, you can now easily accept payments right from your Invoice2go app.

When you connect PayPal Here and Invoice2go, you can accept credit card payments, anywhere you interact with customers, without leaving app. Expect to pay low transaction fees per card swipe, insert, or tap. Also there are no monthly fees, setup fees, cancellation fees, or processing minimums.

If you already have your PayPal Here card reader, it’s easy to connect it to your Invoice2go app.

If you don’t already have a PayPal Here card reader, here’s how to get one:

  • Go to “PayPal Here” under  “Client Payment Options” in your Invoice2go Settings.
  • Tap on “Get started” to link your PayPal account (or create a new one) and order a reader. The magnetic strip reader is free or you can get the chip reader for $49
  • Once you’re connected, you can start taking payments on your Invoice2go app.
  • Simply select any invoice with a balance and select the “Charge on reader” option when you add a payment. Your customer can insert their credit or debit card into your card reader (or you can enter the card details manually). In moments of seconds you’re paid!

Note that the mobile card reader will only be available for iOS devices with Invoice2go for now. Android mobile devices will be able to take advantage of the mobile card reader soon!

To pair the Bluetooth enabled PayPal Here device, first make sure you are utilizing a bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet.

Turn on your Bluetooth reader by pressing in the On/Off button for one second. A green light will blink followed by the blue Bluetooth connectivity light. If the card reader is on but all the lights are off, press a key on the PayPal Here device to wake it up.

Select the PayPal Here reader from the list of available Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet. Your card reader will be listed as “PayPal” plus the last three digits of the serial number on the top of the card reader. Once you have manually paired your device, it will pair automatically moving forward.

Once you have paired your PayPal Here reader with your Invoice2go account, the reader will automatically connect moving forward so you can get straight into accepting payments from your customers.
