What Are The Paypal Verification Steps?

It is currently not compulsory to verify a PayPal membership, but verifying your account details, allows you to avoid having limits placed on the amount of money you can send out from your account. There are two ways you can verify your account; either use your bank account information or apply for a PayPal Plus Card.

Verifying A Paypal Account Using Bank Account Information

  1. Accurately write down your bank account information on a piece of paper.
  2. Log into your PayPal account “overview page” and click on the “Activate Account” tab.
  3. PayPal has devised to ways of verification by providing bank account information. The safest and easiest of the two involves giving your bank account number.
  4. PayPal will make deposits into your account, which will be reflected in your bank statement. You will be expected to input the transaction amount or the transaction number in the verification page.
  5. Click on the “confirm bank account” and it will allow you to input the information. You have to input the exact amount deposited right down to the cents for the information to be accepted as accurate, so that your account information is instantly verified.
  6. Your account is verified, congratulations!

Verifying A Paypal Account By Applying For A Paypal Plus Credit Card

This is the second way to verify your PayPal account. The only challenge with this option is that it takes longer than the use of the bank account option. However, you end up with an extra credit card that can be used to carry out an array of transactions with ease from anywhere in the world.

  1. At the bottom of the PayPal page you will see a link labeled “Plus Card”. Once you click on it, you will be redirected to the PayPal Plus credit card page. Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
  2. You will see a form that you should fill accurately. Read the Terms and conditions section carefully and click on the “Accept” tab against it, if you agree on the conditions outlined. If you want to join the account security program, put a tick in the box next to the question. Hit the submit button and wait for a response.
  3. In a short while PayPal will send you a message telling you whether you have successfully been approved for the card or not. If you have been approved then your account will officially be verified and any sending limits automatically lifted.
  4. These are two main ways with which a PayPal account can be verified. They are both fast and very efficient.
